Worldolet — Thailand's original Boys Love and LGBTQ+ IP label by The World Engine

Thailand has produced some of the world's most beloved Boys Love content. From television series that trend internationally to novels that accumulate hundreds of millions of reads on digital platforms, Thai BL storytelling has built a genuinely global audience. But behind every story is the infrastructure that makes it possible: the creative teams, the publishing entities, and the IP labels that develop and own the work.

Worldolet is one of those labels. It is one of the few in Thailand built specifically to develop, own, and license original Boys Love and LGBTQ+ intellectual property for a global audience.

What Worldolet is

Worldolet is the Boys Love and LGBTQ+ IP label of The World Engine, a Bangkok-based IP development and licensing company founded in 2022. The label covers original webtoon, novels, and character IP, all developed with global licensing potential in mind from the very first concept.

The name Worldolet reflects the label's core belief: that love stories, regardless of who they are about, belong to every reader in every part of the world.

Under Worldolet, The World Engine develops original webtoon titles distributed across platforms in Thailand, South Korea, and Taiwan. Novels under the Worldolet label are published in partnership with World Engine Publishing and available in print through major bookstore chains across Thailand and digitally through MEB and other platforms.

Why Worldolet exists

Thailand has a rich tradition of Boys Love storytelling. Thai BL television series have driven global fandoms, Thai BL novels have reached audiences far beyond their original market, and Thai creators have consistently demonstrated a creative sensibility that resonates internationally.

What has been less developed is the infrastructure to turn that creative energy into owned intellectual property — stories and characters that a Thai company develops, holds the rights to, and can license globally on its own terms.

Worldolet was built to fill that gap. Rather than producing content for other companies or adapting existing foreign IP, The World Engine develops original Worldolet titles from concept up, with a deliberate focus on stories that can travel across formats: from webtoon to screen, from novel to merchandise, from Thailand to the world.

What Worldolet publishes

Worldolet stories are not just for Thai readers

One of the deliberate choices behind Worldolet is that the stories are not built around Thai cultural specificity. They are built around universal human experiences: love, identity, tension, connection, and the messy reality of relationships.

This is not because Thai culture lacks value. It is because the most successful IP travels globally by leading with stories that anyone can feel. Worldolet titles are made in Bangkok. They do not need to announce it to find their audience.

The result is a catalog that has found readers in South Korea, Taiwan, and beyond, and titles that international publishers and production companies can see clearly as adaptable for their own markets.

Worldolet IP is available for licensing

For publishers, game studios, TV producers, and merchandise companies, Worldolet titles are available for adaptation and licensing. Rights available include TV and film adaptation, game adaptation, webtoon adaptation, and character licensing.

Two Worldolet titles have already been announced for TV series adaptation. Grim Lover, a Worldolet novel published by World Engine Publishing, has been confirmed as a Boys Love series by CHANGE2561, starring Pooh Kritthin and Pavel Naret, with the series set to air in September 2026. If Comfort Was a Person has been announced for series adaptation.

Novel publishing rights for Worldolet titles are handled separately by World Engine Publishing.
